Were YOU Looking at MY Money??
Recently one of my children starting saying Bingo! for no apparent reason. He just enjoyed saying it.
But every time I heard it it resonated in my head like a bell, dredging up memories of Chris Landreth's Bingo, an animation that was at the time an amazing animation achievement, and is even today a thoroughly enjoyable (albeit dark) animated short.
Bingo was nominated in 1996 for an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film.
As I said, it is a great animation and well worth watching. Chris Landreth (using an unreleased, still under development first generation Alias Maya animation software) wowed his peers at Siggraph, and images from this animation graced many tech magazine covers. His work inspired many animators, just as that initial release of Maya inspired many animation software developers to improve, expand and in general make their animation software better able to simulate people and the world around them.
