The golden oldies of 3D software

As an exercise in taxing the furthest reaches of my rapidly decaying grey matter, behold my attempt at naming every 3D program I've ever used. Granted, this list "only" covers 1992-1998 (been pretty much exclusively LightWave since then), so I'm fully prepared to be labeled a whippersnapper and called out for lack of ever using punchcards for 3D modeling and animation like they used to back in the day. Some of these are still alive and kicking, and some are relegated to the dustbin of history (practically or actually). Anyhoo, here goes:

  • Paracomp Swivel 3D
  • Specular Infini-D
  • Macromedia Extreme 3D
  • RayDream Designer
  • Hash Animation:Master
  • Poser*
  • Bryce*
  • StrataVision 3D
  • Strata Studio Pro
  • formZ
  • Electric Image Animation System
  • NewTek LightWave 3D

(* both in their 1.0 incarnations as Fractal Design products)

In the words of my favorite contemporary humorist, that is all.

@Ko - good memory! I didn't use either one (had enough trouble remembering all the ones I actually came into contact with), but those are good ones to add to the list.

@Dachnavar - Sculpt 4D goes back before my time, if memory serves. I think I only heard about it in passing from one of my college professors back in the day. Great addition, though.
