Holiday weekend

Monday is Memorial Day here in the States, and as I can't pass up an opportunity to turn a three-day weekend into a week-long vacation waaaay out of town, I suspect blogging is going to be rather light between May 28 and June 4. I know, I know... what will you (all three, perhaps four of you) possibly do without me?

In any event, I don't really discuss politics, so I'll just say this: Memorial Day has very deep meaning for a great many people here in the U.S., and regardless of your political bent or specific feelings about the U.S. administration and/or military, please take the time to say thanks to any member of our armed forces that you happen to know or run into this weekend. They sacrifice a lot to serve their country, so please let them know you appreciate their service.

That's about as political as I'll ever get, so to anyone who is itching for a flame war: please take your napalm elsewhere. Now, this particular spot isn't exactly a thriving bastion of rich comment threads; nonetheless, there are plenty of other more appropriate venues on this here series of tubes for those looking to get their rant on.

At any rate, on with the cookouts and I'll see you all on the other side...
