The circle is now complete
So I'm finally able to break through the thick cloud of iHype (actually, it's been a flood of fairly intense projects landing at once) and finally post again, so I'll make it a quick one while there's a break in the weather. Adobe has announced the availability of the CS3 Production Premium (the one with After Effects, Premiere, etc.) and Master Collection (a.k.a. "the whole enchilada") bundles, so if you've been waiting, well, I suppose you need wait no further. Press release here.
Now back to the regular stream of iPhone-related posts choking teh intarwebs.

Then vs. now
Here's a quick hit from the magic nostalgia box first introduced a couple days ago. I got the earliest versions of Photoshop and Illustrator I had running in a virtual machine (on System 7.5.3, if you must know), because I thought it'd be fun to see how the programs looked in 1994 as compared to the freshly-unleashed CS3 versions. Windows Pick: TaskSwitch XP Pro
Never one to leave our Windows-bound friends in the cold, today's free/cheap software pick falls into the free category, and it addresses the lameness of XP's built-in Alt+Tab functionality. TaskSwitch XP Pro is a fantastic utility that completely takes over your Alt+Tab keystroke, replacing the native version with a highly customizable and highly useful version. [Read More]

By Grabthar's Hammer, what a savings
If you're a Cleaner user, you may be interested to know that until May 31, Flip4Mac is offering big price cuts on Episode ($150 off) and Episode Pro ($300 off) if you provide your Cleaner proof of purchase (all you need is a screenshot, actually). Cleaner seems to be at least mostly dead, so why not switch to a decent alternative?
And yes, they are quoting yours truly on that page. You give one good review and you never hear the end of it...
You can find more details on the Flip4Mac site.

Mac Pick: NuFile
Over the years, I've written four pieces under the general heading of "Ten Programs I Can't Live Without," which always seem to be well-received. But since I only seem to be able to spit those articles out once every year, year-and-a-half or so, I'm going to use this blog to occasionally highlight a piece of free or cheap software that helps me in my day-to-day productivity. For creative pros, does the OS even matter anymore?
Well, of course it does - let's not be silly and actually pay attention to my sensationalist headline here. But if you stretch a little, the statement "the OS doesn't matter" may have a growing crystal of truth in it. [Read More]
