Final Cut Studio 2: First Impressions
I've just taken delivery of my upgrade copy of Final Cut Studio 2.. man
it's heavy... on the delivery packaging it's said 5.70 kg... ouch.
I won't post any unpacking pictures, that's been done already I'm sure elsewhere.
Upon opening the box, it contains:
Final Cut Pro 6 User Manual Volume I-IV
Color Setup Guide
Installation Disc
Installing Your Software Guide
Proof of Purchase Coupon
Apple Inc. Final Cut Studio License Agreement
Apple Care Service and Support Guide.
Upon Opening the Disk Box, you are presented with 9 disc 8 for Apps, and a training DVD.
I've started the upgrade process, and had no problems, went with full upgrade, with the only change being the extra files I'm having stored on an external hard drive.
Yee gads, I hope that estimated install time for this is going to come down dramatically, at 77% as i type this it says it will take 6 hour and six minutes... and that's with just the first of content discs.
Update: Just put the second of the extra content disc in, and estimated time has dropped to 3 hour 15 minutes, and only 20 minutes or so have past since the above post... so I'm hopeful it will be quicker.
Final Update:
Just finished the installation of FCS2, and applied all the patches.
Everything seems to be running fine, just tried launching all the apps, and they did with no problems.
In the next couple of days, I'll be going through the training DVD that came with it, and I"ll post my experiences with that.
But so far, no problems.
