Imagineer Update

Imagineer Systems (www.imagineersystems.com) today announced new software point releases of its popular planar tracking and rotoscoping software mocha and mocha for After Effects v2.   Most notably with this new release, mocha v1.6 and mocha for After Effects v2 now support tracking data export directly to the Red Giant Warp After Effects plug-in.

mocha for After Effects v2 is a stand alone 2D tracking tool for the After Effects community based on Imagineer Systems’ unique 2.5D Planar Tracking technology. mocha for After Effects helps solve problematic shots that traditionally challenge point based trackers, such as footage with objects moving out of frame, lack of detail, motion blur and heavy grain. This helps the artist to generate solid tracks, giving position, scale, rotation, shear and perspective matched tracks and exporting the data to After Effects in less time.

“Many of our users have been requesting a simpler workflow between Red Giant Warp's powerful dual-corner pinning tool and mocha for After Effects' superior planar tracking system,” said Sean Safreed, direct of product management for Red Giant Software.  “Thanks to Imagineer's work, Warp has direct access to the mocha output. We're excited that users can now use both together seamlessly.”

“In the last year, After Effects artists have become reliant on mocha’s planar tracker to solve the most challenging shots but are always looking for ways to improve their compositing workflow,” added Ross Shain, chief marketing officer for Imagineer Systems.  “Red Giant’s Warp offers high quality corner pin rendering and the ability to use mocha’s data with a simple dual pin interface. This solves some of the existing complexity that can arise when using AE for screen replacements. Partnering with developers like Red Giant to ensure our tools are working effectively and efficiently together ultimately yields the kind of value our customers are looking for.”
