Comments:

Awesome! He is so well remembered for so many things. I'm of the age that Airwolf is where I first saw his work, but there are countless other TV shows and movie roles to pick from, too.

In his book he says it wasn't one of his best experiences, but if it wasn't for the show I might not have known what a great actor he is!

Check out his "Top Ten good things about winning an Academy Award" on David Letterman.

As to Airwolf, you can watch him in this rather well put together episode guide.

Wow. Ernie. What a fantastic autobiography. I've been a fan of his since the 1980s with his portrayal of Dominic Santini in Airwolf. Damn, I loved that show so much. The Hawke & Santini battle theme they did (the main battle theme) which is available ('Airwolf Themes') via Apple iTunes or Amazon.com was so iconic, every time I hear that music I think of him and Jan-Michael Vincent flying around the skies in their super-chopper.

I know it wasn't his happiest time compared to say, McHale's Navy but I for one loved it and I've so much respect for the man.

A brilliant read, and what a life.
