Mothers Day: 3D Flower
As
an experiment, John Haley put together a 3D flower for a mothers day
promo, and with it, a procedural texture. Of course, you could always
scan a real petal of a flower, then map it to the geometry, but in
CINEMA4D it is really easy to create a detailed texture, then modify it
(either numerically or through BodyPaint 3D)...
John quickly put together this simple 3D model of a flower with CINEMA4D's mograph module. Although we haven't really figured out how this thing is going to animate (if at all), the mograph module isn't just for animation - deformers like SPLINE WRAP make some modeling chores (especially during the editing procedure) much easier.
Here is a quick view of John's workflow... when the project is finished, we'll post the file.
