NAB rolls out the carpet
The NAB "green" carpet was rolled out for the attendees - what there were of them for the 2008 convention. Wait a minute. What there were of them? There were quite a few - - although many of them were bunching up at the frong gate, barely able to make it past the Quantel/Autodesk bottleneck.
While there were new products to see (I still haven't seen all of them, but intend to hit up more tomorrow), if I have to pick three for right now - - I'd have to list them in order:
- DIGITAL ANARCHY - new fluidz simulation. A port to the After Effects host from the SpeedSix software.
- IMAGINEER SYSTEMS - mogul. A new studio integration system for facilities large and small.
- QUANTEL - yeah, quantel. They have new educational software called COMPASS which hopes to teach a new generation of compositors how to migrate to iQ/eQ. It runs on Windows XP, but I saw it running on a Macbook under XP virtualization.
Those are probably my three top picks for the day. (ps, did you see the Quantel/Automatic Duck offer?)
If you're in Las Vegas, you'll definitely want to stop by the MAXON CINEMA 4D booth to say hello to me, but also (and probably more importantly) to check out Mike's presentation of the Adobe Cards demo, done with the CINEMA 4D. yep he'll be showing it off sometime between 10-noon.
