THIRD D IN SECOND L

"Yes, it’s time to welcome sculpted prims into our second
lives! In honor of our latest feature and the amazing sculpties that
have enriched the beta grid, Linden Lab is holding a Second Life
sculpted prim contest."

What does this mean? 

It
means there is more geometry and polygonal control in Second Life now,
and it's your chance to show off your 3D modeling skills.  Unfortunately there are only a couple of days left for you to enter the contest.

You have to be a Second Life member - this means you need to download the software in order to run SL on your PC/Mac and set up a free account, the rest of the rules are pretty straightforward.  I don't think the prize is worth as much as the popularity/notariety you can gain from winning, but it's for fun!

To enter, please IM Heretic Linden
expressing your desire for a sculpted prim display space at Luna (MG)
or at Coelacanth (TG). The contest begins today, May 24 and will end
June 1, 2007 when 5 winners will be selected. The display of sculpted
prim entries, however, will remain at Luna (MG) and Coelacanth (TG) for
one month. Winning entries will be included in the Second Life
inventory library and 5 winning creators will receive a real life
Second Life t-shirt.

Textures folder, under “Sculpt Textures”), then visit the sculpted prim wiki.

Official Contest Rules

1. All sculpted prims must be PG, per our Community Standards.
2. Limit one entry per Second Life account. Only one
   prize will be awarded for each winner. In other words, no winners will
   win more than one prize.
3. Anyone who submits a sculpted prim consents to
   have that item included in the Second Life Library. All included
   sculpted prims will have open permissions and be freely available to
   all Second Life Residents.
4. Before submitting your sculpted prim, please name it with your Second Life name.
5. All entries must utilize only sculpted prims.
6. All entries must utilize 10 or fewer prims.
7. Each entry must fit on one 10×10 plot.
8. No purchase is necessary to enter and win, winner does not need to be present to win.
9. Contest void where prohibited. Subject to all international, federal, state and local laws.
10. Must be 13 or older to participate in the Sculpted Prim Contest.
11. Prize descriptions: (5) Grand Prize: Official
    Second Life real life T-shirt. Value: USD $25. (unlimited) Official
    Sculpted Prim Contest in-world T-shirt.
12. Prize distribution: Gift will be awarded by Linden Lab via email, in-world or by mail.
13. Linden Lab will notify winners by mail, in-world or e-mail of procedures for redeeming prize.
14. The prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot
    be exchanged for cash or credit. Winners who do not wish to accept the
    prize as offered may opt to forfeit the prize. There will be no
    substitutions.
15. Taxes or any other incidental fees that may apply
    are not included. Linden Lab may report the value of the prizes to the
    IRS, in which case winners will receive IRS Form 1099 to assist in
    preparing tax returns.
16. Promotion begins May 24 at 5pm PDT. Entries accepted until 08:59 AM PDT, June 1, 2007.
17. Entries will be judged by on the basis of innovation, originality, creativity and visual quality.
