SIGGRAPH 2008: 3d printing
On August 12th, Philips Incubator Project: Shapeways will launch the first consumer-focused customizable 3D merchandise platform, The Shapeways Creator.
The Shapeways Creator, utilizing a 3D model library, allows consumers to easily manipulate the structure, look and feel of their own products online. For the first time, budding 3D artists, architects, product designers and consumers of all skill level can create 3D designs online, and Shapeways will print and mail the designer their creation within 10 days.
