Rob B's Telephone Cord
It actually has very little to do with Rob Birnholz's telephone cord dilemma, but in a strange coincidence, my brother happened to send me a photo of telephone cords at the same time the Birnholz-telepone-particular-aftereffects correspondence was in full tilt.
Here are the photos of a great exhibit by Jean Luc Cornec in Frankfurt Museum of Communcations...

running in World of Warcraft

From DMA\LA's friend Elijah - in an attempt to run IRL, but control characters in WOW. This is hilarious. Nice job guys.....
We always wondered how hard it would be to run in the real world for as long as you do in games like World of WarCraft. Evidently, it is pretty damn hard. We hacked a couple treadmills into the forward controls of the World of WarCraft so that you'd have to run in order to move your character forward. To make it authentic, we dressed like our avatars and gave it just under five minutes of hell on the treadmill. Enjoy....

FOX SPORTS HD ID
Nice use of what seems to be The Foundry's repeat edge function
Mark brought Renascent in for an NFL pitch and they delivered beautiful boards we absolutely fell in love with. We switched it from an NFL project to a network HD piece, and Josh took over working with Joost to deliver this really eye catching piece. It was a little bumpy getting this off the ground (the time zone and language difference made it all a bit more challenging for Keith and Josh) but Joost was awesome and we?re really proud of this new ID. QuickTime HD Transcoder: ClipWrap
We were talking about QuickTime wrapping at Siggraph's Motion Content Creator meeting and the ability for QuickTime to recognize different media. Here's another easy way to re-wrap your media for m2t files. Anyone working with HD footage might want to check out this little ap.
Rewraps - doesn't transcode
ClipWrap rewraps the video samples from your existing m2t files without re-encoding them. This means blazingly fast convert speeds and no image degradation.
Automatic format detection
ClipWrap speaks m2t so you don't have to. It automatically parses the file's format and chooses the proper output format, so there's no hassle trying to determine the proper settings (frame rate, image size, gamma levels, etc).

Luxology modo: Mac bucket render 2.43M Polys = 27sec
This is a great little movie demonstrating how Luxology's modo can handle millions of polygons. At Siggraph, Brad Peebler showed off the Nexus technology that would allow for Trillions of polygons. Mere mortals benefit from that kind of management by adept handling of "even" a couple million polygons. Check out this movie..
