FREE STUFF: OLDIE/GOODIE

This is not for beginners.  While it may be simple to use, it is also fairly easy to break parts of existing FFX data by using this tool.  For that reason, I warn, apply with caution.  This isn't an Adobe supported feature - but it works!  And works well!  One caveat is that there are two scripts (ONE=Mac, ONE=PC).check bottom of that page for the free download of the script that makes the Bridge Preview Animation.

SoftImage XSI & Develop Start Incubator

Softimage announced its new ‘Incubator’ Program trial in partnership with Develop Magazine. The Softimage Incubator Program will give approved game developer applicants access to SOFTIMAGE®|XSI® 3D software at zero cost during the first year of start-up, with an easy transition to fixed quarterly payments for the remaining two years of the program’s three year term. By removing the financial barriers of entry for game developers, this program allows start-up companies to preserve cash flow, and keep energies focused on the creative process.  ENDS JULY 1, 2008

GROW! with Artbeats

The first time that I saw the "Grow!" series in an email notice, it looked like "GROWL" to me.  I thought that it'd be a series of video with lions and tigers... nope.

More like Dandelions and Tiger Lillies.
It's super slow motion, timelapse footage of several different kinds of footage.  Check out the stuff for yourself at ARTBEATS.COM.

Last year, when Grow! V1 came out, I put together a quick idea for a promo.  Sometimes you don't need anything but the stock footage... wait you NEED an animator - really you do. ;)
