FREE STUFF: OLDIE/GOODIE
This is not for beginners. While it may be simple to use, it is also fairly easy to break parts of existing FFX data by using this tool. For that reason, I warn, apply with caution. This isn't an Adobe supported feature - but it works! And works well! One caveat is that there are two scripts (ONE=Mac, ONE=PC).check bottom of that page for the free download of the script that makes the Bridge Preview Animation.

GROW! with Artbeats
The first time that I saw the "Grow!" series in an email notice, it looked like "GROWL" to me. I thought that it'd be a series of video with lions and tigers... nope.
More like Dandelions and Tiger Lillies.
It's super slow motion, timelapse footage of several different kinds of footage. Check out the stuff for yourself at ARTBEATS.COM.

More Compressions Talk
http://realworldvideocompression.com/
Admittedly, there are some of us who talk about pixels daily, hourly, and constantly. There are so many different types of ways to view video content, it's no wonder there are just as many (more) discussions about how to compress those videos.
Here's yet another for your reference bookmarks... Andy Beach's commentary on the subject.

ToonBoom's AnimationISH...
Toon Boom has a new piece of software out called "ANIMATION-ISH".
I don't know much about it... yet. But it appears to be the next step up from Toon Boom's Flip Boom (for creative scribblers of all ages).
While Flip Boom is a doodle animation pad, allowing export to SWF, QuickTime and AVI after traditional cel animation basics, Animation-ish looks like it has a couple of advanced features, including keyframing.
It's only $20 more than Flip Boom, but looks to have many more features, including the keyframe (a la flash tweens) process.
I'm supposed to be on a computer vacation this weekend, but I might be checking this out a little more... there's a FREE SOFTWARE DEMO on the website: http://www.toonboom.com

De'anvel'ez After Effects Lessons everywhere
Dean has a series of CDs that you can purchase from his site to learn several different project based After Effets tricks.
However, Dean also sells little After Effects project files that are mini-lessons in themselves. For the cost of a bag a chips, you can get some great insight into how Dean sets up these wild animations.
The one thing that makes so many of Dean's projects unique is that almost all of them rely on JUST THE TOOLS YOU ALREADY HAVE IN AFTER EFFECTS. There is no need to purchase extra plugins if you have CS3 (you may need "pro" plugins if you're using older version).
Get them at Dean's website: MOTIONGRAPHICSLAB.COM
