Premiere Pro CS3 Podcast #21: Using a Photoshop File as a Clipping Mask in Premiere Pro CS3

In this week's podcast, Host Jeff Schell goes to the viewer mailbag to answer a question from a Photoshop user, who wants to know how to cut a hole in a video to let the video below show through. Jeff helps to convert some of the Photoshop lingo-- such as "clipping masks" -- into Premiere Pro CS3 terminology -- such as "track mattes."

Jeff also shows how to initiate a new Photoshop file from directly within Premiere Pro CS3, which automatically sizes the Photoshop document to match your project canvas size. In addition, Jeff shows how to use any Photoshop shape as your clipping path (or "matte" as they call it in Premiere Pro). Lastly, Jeff shows how to quickly change the scale property of the matte over time in order to have it grown/shrink.

Love what you've got going on here, just wish it wasn't all quicktime based. :)
