Shooting in the Philippines

I am the proud owner of a Canon Digital Rebel DSLR, a four year old DSLR, with a 6 megapixel capacity, Yes I know it is old, but I still enjoy shooting with it, and plan to shoot thousands of more images with it before it up and quits (knock knock on the wood). I've taken it virtually everywhere, The Hilton Waikoloa Village on the Big Island, Ground Zero in New York City, San Francisco, Manila, and in the southern Philippines, where the airports have Wanted Dead or Alive posters of the regions most notorious terrorists (and those Abu Sayyafs and MILFs (and no, not MILFs, but Moro Islamic Liberacion Front, islamists) are fubugly.

These are the current bad guys of the Philippines. Janjalani has fortunately been terminated

It isn't really comforting boarding a PAL jet right after you see this poster, but you gotta do what you gotta do.

Anyway, during this trip, I shot somewhere around 3GBs of high resolution (well 6 megapixel) images. Here are just a few

Tricycles are a common mode of transportation, and yes, there must be at least 10 people on that bike. Canon Digital Rebel shutter at 1/80, ISO 100, focal length 55.0mm, at f/6.3

Sugar is the cash crop on Negros Island. Here is a truck pre-harvest. The harvest didn't officially start for another two months,
but some farmers were desperate. They harvest early but don't yield as much sugar, and the processing is the same. Canon Digital Rebel shutter at 1/80, ISO 100, focal length 45.0mm, at f/7.1
