Sex Scenes and Narrative
Far too often an excuse for a pornographic experience to those to embarrassed to just watch porn, the narrative movie sex scene is much neglected as serious and powerful cinematic tool.
This list compiles the top 50 Greatest sex scenes ever put on film. And yet perusing its catalogue (and reminiscing on some almost forgotten gems) it strikes that one has slipped off the radar.
For me its the scene from The Name of the Rose where monk Adso (played by Christian Slater) is seduced by a feral girl who cannot speakthat really fries my chicken. The scene is raw, emmotive, rough, coarse and clumbsy but at the same time intensely sexy and errotic. A very ably and skillfully direct scene and one that is not there simply for a good voyeuristic perve but rather a plot vehicle with direct narrative ramifications for the rest of the film.
