I was surfing Ken Rockwell's excellent website detailing photography, cameras, HDTVs, and more, plus great photos of he and his family.  Anyway, earlier this week Ken started talking about a law that was working its way into the California state budget.  Basically, the law will collect taxes from businesses that advertise on these sites and don't charge sales tax.  Those businesses (like Amazon advertising on a blog, etc.) would just end the ads and would destroy the blog, website, etc.

Find out how to save these websites, even if you don't live in California, visit Ken's website.  Webmasters in California, check out this page.  The California state legislature took a look at it yesterday (June 25, 2009), and it looks like a victory was made, but who knows if it will go away permanently or come back.  So help them out!
