I came across a great website today, mpeg2works.com (thanks to mupromo.com), and I learned they create some very cool Mac apps for video editors, including MPEG2 Works 4 Advanced, MPEG2 Works, and ExportToQT (QuickTime).  These affordable apps allow you to encode video to DVD, QuickTime (perfect for the web), SVCD and VCD.
