There's a grassroots campaign and website, SinkTitanic.com, which hopes to help propel The Dark Knight past Titanic, in terms of domestic box office revenue.  TDK is getting closer to $500 million in domestic box office gross, making it the second largest domestic box office take.  But Titanic was number one for months, between late 1997 and the first 1/3 of 1998, and it made just over $600 million domestic.  Of course, none of these figures can compete when older movies are adusted for inflation.
