Google Docs Introduces Screenplay Template
Google Docs Introduces Screenplay Template

Google Docs now provides templates of all sorts, including a screenplay template, so you can write a script online!  Pretty cool!  I think this might be great for those who collaborate, but don't want to spend a couple of hundred bucks on Final Draft and the like.  (For the record, I love Final Draft, and have been a user since 2000.)

My writing partner Grant pointed it out to me, and we're thinking of using it to work on a new script.  Maybe a short, just to take it for a spin.  Find out more here.

Comments:

A search of the templates does not turn up this one. Any idea what happened to it? It's not under "Miscellaneous", or at least wasn't as of 16:00 MST 7-19-08.

There's also a free online screenplay template at Scripped.com. It's more of an experience because instead of going to the format menu, you can use Tab or Enter to toggle the screenplay elements. This is what real screenplay software does for you; GDocs doesn't have it. Yet... In the meantime, check out http://www.scripped.com.
