Flip Video versus iPod nano
The folks over at Newteevee.com did a side by side comparison of Apple's new iPod nano versus the Flip Ultra HD. While the nano has way more going for it in terms of usability, the Newteevee test shows that the dedicated Flip Ultra SD video camera outputs a superior video image. I am a Flip video user, and the camera is indeed super easy to use and offers up a decent video image for the price. The nano's video quality shown in the Newteevee test is garbage when compared with the Flip camera, but you don't have to take my word for it, take a look for yourself here: Flip video versus iPod nano
What this means is that Cisco's $590 million purchase of Pure Digital means that it has to seriously improve on the design and video quality of future Flip cameras, because Apple isn't going to stop improving the video quality of the nano, which as of today is mediocre at best.
