Estimate: 500,000 iPhone 3G S's To Be Sold In The First Weekend
Estimate: 500,000 iPhone 3G S's To Be Sold In The First Weekend

It's being estimated that Apple will sell 500,000 iPhone 3G S's in just the first weekend, according to AppleInsider.com!  The price points range from $199 for a 16GB and $299 for a 32GB unit (the $99 8GB is the iPhone 3G, NOT a 3G S).  Let's just say if they sell only the 16GB model, retailers will gross close to a combined $1 billion!  But throw in both iPhone 3G S's, and you're looking at over a billion dollard gross!

Comments:

It's a very exciting time for iPhone owners, new and old, if for no other reason than the wealth of very useful applications in the app store. Take Shoofa DC for example - it provides access food and drink promotions in the Washington DC metro area, effectively saving residents and visitors tons of money.

Don't forget the ~$300 that AT&T has to send to Apple for each device activation / contract extension. That first billion is just the money from consumers.
