You are a "Vault-Dweller". You grew up in an underground shelter created to withstand the third world war. Many years have passed since the end of the civilized world and you have emerged from the vault on a mission to find your father who left with no explanation. This is the main storyline of the game but there are many side stories that will put you on a path to combat mutants, raiders, and all around abominations with only the weapons and ammo you manage to scavenge.

   The most impressive thing about this game is its ability to immerse you in the post-apocalyptic environment. You are constantly in survival mode, eating radiation contaminated food, finding medical supplies, praying you'll find some more 5.56 caliber rounds for your assault rifle. How you decide to make it in this hostile world is up to you, you choose your own path to accomplish your goals the way you want to. Do you want to spend your skill points in sneaking around undetected, or kicking doors down with heavy weapons. I don't think I'm even halfway through this game, but I'm already thinking of how I may want to approach the game my second time around. Yep, its that good.
