Apple has invited the media to a special event slated for October 14, 2008.  The invite says, "The spotlight turns to notebooks."  So we're finally going to see some major Apple laptop updates, and not just the usual speed bump.  Read about it at MacRumors.com.

An analysis of the invite seems to confirm the image is of the new aluminum MacBook laptop that's been rumored for quite some time.
