Xbox 360 Outsells PS3 in Japan for a Month For First Time
According to GameDaily, the XBOX 360 has outsold the PS3 for a solid month in Japan! As tough as it's been for the Xbox business in Japan, Microsoft
would appear to be making some headway. Incredibly, the Xbox 360 has
outsold Sony's PS3 for a full month the first time ever in Japan.
According to the data from Famitsu publisher Enterbrain (via Reuters),
Microsoft sold 53,547 units of the Xbox 360 in the four weeks to
September 28, compared with 33,071 units of the PS3. The Wii meanwhile
easily dominated the market with 109,548 units sold.
Looking at the weekly data from Media Create,
we see that Xbox 360 sales were slightly down at 11,291 for the week
ended September 28. This was still a few thousand better than the PS3's
8,275. The PS3 software market just isn't very appealing to the
Japanese gamers right now it seems only four titles made it into the
top 50 chart.
Unsurprisingly, Nintendo continues to sell hardware and software at a
far better rate. During the last week, Nintendo sold 57.487 units of
the DS and 26,314 units of the Wii. On the software chart, there were
21 titles for the DS and 10 for the Wii.
