Rogers Canada launches E-Tickets via Cell Phone
Rogers Canada was the first company in North America to offer its customers a very unique way of buying tickets. Instead of going the normal paper route, Rogers offered its customers the opportunity to text "TIX" on their cell phone, and they were brought to a digital box office for their recent "Rogers Picnic at Fort York" concert. Once at the digital box office, customers could purchase tickets for the event, and once purchased, a text message was sent to them with a digital ticket complete with bar code. Now, all the concert goer had to do was show up to the concert with their cell phone, and have the bar code scanned by a ticket taker, and they were all set to go. This could, and should be the new wave of selling tickets for concerts.
