Dayton, Ohio library to loan video games

According to the Dayton Daily News out of Dayton, Ohio, a local library has started to loan out Video Games.  Well, it beats going to Blockbuster!

As of today, July 1, gamers of all ages can check out best selling video games, free of charge, from Washington-Centerville Public Library.

This new collection offers users access to games compatible with the four most popular console platforms: PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Wii and will feature current games like Kung Fu Panda, Madden NFL 08, Iron Man and Guitar Hero as well as some older favorites like Sonic Heroes and Final Fantasy.

"Our library strives to be on the leading edge of library service," said library director Cindi Klinck. "The fact that we are one of only four libraries in Ohio, and the first in Montgomery County, to offer our users video games, is testament to that commitment."

The library tries to anticipate the needs of the public.

"We actively look for new ways to help educate, enrich and entertain by offering new formats and services to keep our library vibrant and relevant to today's lifestyle," said technical and information services manager, Margaret Maddox.
