CA: Handsfree - The Jawbone
California drivers have to use a hands free device to make phone calls
in the car. Here in Los Angeles, we do a lot of talking on our cell
phones, and far too much driving. Many Angelenos do too much of both
at the same time.
The new law requires drivers to let go of the phone while driving. (a band-aid solution, but a start in the right direction)
While I've used hands free for several years now, you might be considering it for the first time. There are a bunch of choices out there...
THE JAWBONE
This is a really great looking and great sounding headset. It works on DARPA's technology to isolate sound.. ooooo.... it has cusioned ear hooks... ahhh.... But unless you intend on wearing this thing all day long or as a fashion accessory, you might want to consider an alternative device.

The new versions of the Jawbone headset are really sweet looking. The padded earpiece looks nice, even when it's not on your head. And the whole element looks more like jewelry than technology.
Many people will look at the device's price tag and wonder why an earpiece would cost $130, but it's only about $30-40 more than headsets of similar quality.
Sure, you can get a bluetooth headset for about half of the cost, but if it's difficult and unconfortable to use, and you can't hear the party on the other end, is it really going to help you keep your mind on the road?
