Can't remove deleted emails in Windows Mail Deleted Folder in Vista ? Here's a trick to get rid of them!

I had this problem recently in Vista's Window's Mail. When I went to empty the deleted email folder, it gave an error and would not delete any of the 65 messages there.  I tried deleting them manually and that failed too, just generated an error message.

Here is what worked for me.

1) Click on the Inbox or another folders (but NOT the Deleted Items folder!!) so you are viewing those emails.

2) Place your mouse pointer over the Deleted Items folder and right click on it and select 'Empty Deleted Items Folder'

3) That will delete ONE email. Repeat over and over and over again until all files in that folder are gone. (I had 65 emails in mine, it took a few minutes but did work...)

Thats it - it will work. I don't know why they could not be deleted in the first place, nor do I know why it works. But it does.
