Bethesda Announces Fallout 3: Survival Edition
1up.com is reporting that Bethesda, makers of the award winning Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, are releasing yet another special edition for their upcoming Fallout 3 game, but listen up fanboys and girls, you can only get it through Amazon.com!If the metallic-lunchbox-encased Fallout 3
Collector's Edition just not hardcore enough for you? Then perhaps you
should shift your attention toward the Fallout 3 Survival Edition
instead. Announced by Bethesda Softworks today, the Survival Edition
(available for all three versions of the game) will come with
everything the special edition has, plus a life-size replica of the
Pip-Boy 3000 wrist device worn by the main character in the game. And
it'll only run you $119.99.
Unfortunately, you can't actually wear the replica in real
life; it'll function as a digital clock, perfect to clutter your desk
with. If you want one, though, you'll have to go through Amazon to get it, as the Survival Edition is exclusive to the online retailer.
And you may want to pre-order it fast -- according to Bethesda product manager Pete Hines in a new diary post,
the Survival Edition is being released in extremely low quantities. "We
wanted to do it in a way that they were really exclusive for folks that
got them," he writes. "So once they?re gone...and they?ll go
quickly...they are gone for good." Check out the diary for the skinny
on the replica and the rest of the items that'll come with the Survival
Edition (as well as the Collectors Edition, sans Pip-Boy 3000 replica),
including a bobblehead, art book, making-of DVD, and of course, that
shiny lunchbox holding it all.
