Konami Drums Up Rock Revolution
Konami, the publisher that helped kick start the music/rhythm genre with DanceDanceRevolution, Karaoke Revolution, Beatmania and Guitar Freaks, probably feels a little left out with all the excitement around Guitar Hero and Rock Band these days. Well, they're changing that today with the announcement of Rock Revolution, "an unprecedented, authentic music-based video game that will re-define the rhythm genre." Although the game features guitar and bass, Konami is emphasizing the drum, boasting that it has the "most realistic drum peripheral on the market." When the game launches this fall, players will be able to download additional music (Xbox 360 and PS3 versions) and on the Wii version players will be able to "air-drum" and "air-guitar" with the remote and nunchuk. A DS version is also planned so gamers can used the stylus for "intense rhythm matching sessions." "Rock Revolution will be the most innovative and realistic rock game to hit the market, that will provide a quality drum peripheral and music that players will appreciate," said Anthony Crouts, Vice President of Marketing for Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc. "As the originator of music-based games, we are dedicated to bringing fans a truly preeminent music experience.
