This thing is pretty dang cool. It's targetted at kids from 6-11 years old, but even your 7 year old's younger siblings are going to want to investigate different things with it.
Have you ever seen what a CHEERIO or a GOLDFISH CRACKER looks like close up? You have no idea until you put it in front of the bionic eye...You can look at liquid stuff too - but unless there's texture on the surface of the liquid, it isn't as interesting as other elements you might find around the house - - although oatmeal (liquid?) might be pretty cool.
Take an eye-popping peek at the world around you with the EyeClops
Bionic Eye. The EyeClops is a handheld bionic eye that allows kids to
view virtually any item at 200 times the regular size on any TV screen.
Common everyday objects appear extraordinary: Table salt looks like
blocks of ice. Fine hair looks like twisted rope. Even your own skin
looks alien! Just Plug it in to the TV and turn it On. There is no
software to install, no system requirements to read and no buttons to
fiddle with. View virtually any object ranging from the carpet to the
family dog to a spider. An observation chamber and dish are included
for small objects and liquids. Place objects in either and watch the
results on any TV screen! There is also a base for hands-free use.
Reality TV right in your family room.
It's from JAKKS toys but you can find it at ToysRUs, Target Stores and other outlets for about $40.
