Panasonic's newest Blu-Ray Disc player plays AVCHD content via SD memory card
To add more fuel to the Blu Ray / HD DVD fire, Panasonic today introduced the DMP-BD30, the company's next gen Blu Ray disc player that features Final Standard Profile, that makes it possible to view Picture in Picture and audio mixing enabling viewers to switch between the main and sub windows. The DMP-BD30 also has an SD Memory card slot that enables you to play AVCHD content from an AVCHD camcorder.
The DMP-BD30 is priced at $499.95 and sports such features as Deep Color Compatibility (presumably some sort of color fidelity technology), HDMI 1.3B (8-bit 256 tom 4096 12-bit gradation), 1080/24p playback, obviating the 3:2 pulldown. It is designed to work seamlessly with Panasonic's Lumix line of digital cameras, as well as other Panasonic devices.
