The MacBook Pro is a beautiful computer, but with all things, they can tend to get scratched up, especially when traveling around. As with most techie gadgets these days, manufacturers have come up with all kinds of cases and notebook bags for the MacBook Pro.

TechShell sent a few covers for the 15-inch MacBook Pro to check out, and overall, they are pretty cool. They sent two, a pink model and a black non-slip model. Both snap on directly to the Top and bottom of the 15-inch MacBook Pro, and both are snug. I personally like the black one better because it is built with a rubber-like material that gives it an extra level of non slip protection.

Hot Pink

The TechShell is made of of a high impact polycarbonate and by design, leaves the vents of the MacBook Pro open. There are no adhesives or tape, just snap in place and go.

Black Rubberized is my favorite. They also offer a few other colors that are rubberized.

My Impressions
For traveling, these covers will do nicely to help protect your notebook. The non-slip model is my favorite, but others may go for the hot pink or other color available. They are about $79. By design, they are easily removable, and if you just want to protect the bottom or top, you can do so. One note, as with all notebook computing, it is advised to ensure that you have adequate ventilation under your system when computing. For example, I burned up a Compaq by using it on my bed for extended periods. The TechShells seem to have good ventilation, but notebooks by nature, get very hot, especially the dual core models.
