Flip Video versus iPod nano
Flip Video versus iPod nano
The folks over at Newteevee.com did a side by side comparison of Apple's new iPod nano versus the Flip Ultra HD. While the nano has way more going for it in terms of usability, the Newteevee test shows that the dedicated Flip Ultra SD video camera outputs a superior video image. I am a Flip video user, and the camera is indeed super easy to use and offers up a decent video image for the price. The nano's video quality shown in the Newteevee test is garbage when compared with the Flip camera, but you don't have to take my word for it, take a look for yourself [Read More]

Apple kills Shake
Goodbye Shake. Apple has apparently EOL'd its Shake compositing tool after only seven years since it acquired it. The application, which originally ran on Linux, Windows, and the IRIX operating systems was acquired back in 2002 by Apple. Subsequent versions were ridiculously repriced for non Mac operating systems, while the Apple version, coupled with a machine to run it on, came out to be about the same price as non-Mac users were forced to pay. Montage - another tool for Pinnacle Studio 12
Montage is Studio 12's tool for quickly putting together professional
looking slideshows and montages on your PC. With it, you can display albums of
photos or create multi-picture video walls.
You don't need to be a professional to use it. It seems pretty straightforward. But you'll get a really good looking result with a few clicks of the mouse. I've used Pinnacle's Studio software on my PC before, and it delivers a really good looking video with little effort.
