Create a Transparent Object In Photo-Paint
This tutorial is to
show you how to create an object, from a photo, with a transparent
background. There is software available just for this purpose but so
far, the steps are similar and all of them take some patience. So I am using the Cutout Lab, Magic Wand
Mask Tool and the Eraser Tool in Photo Paint . I will be using this Image which you can as well by right mouse clicking and saving image as...:

Woo Hoo! I Am Learning Some New Stuff
I just purchased two books from Amazon; I buy a lot of used books from there. The two I am speaking about are...Special Effects and Photo-Art and Digital Photo Art. Although I am not a photographer and have cheap unimpressive equipment, these two books inspired me to try some software filters and effects on my plain ole pics.
Here are two originals:

What's Wrong With This Dream?
When we moved to Hawaii, I had high hopes of doing nothing but creating and selling art...well it didn't work out that way. However, I did gather a slight body of work in the form of t-shirt and card designs that I am using for personal use. I have pretty much used Photo Shop Elements or Paint Shop Pro on occasion. Plus, I have tried my hand at digital painting which is not at all like physical painting. I have yet to experience the wonderful feeling of the the drag of the the brush on a piece of Sommerset Velvet black drawing paper in the digital format. However, I am determined to continue.
In the next few posts I just want to show a few things and what they have become.
This guy actually became the jumping off spot for a design that I sold to a t-shirt company. In reality, the border and color scheme is all that remained in the final work. I regret that I can't show the actual design as it is not my property anymore. It is called Waiki Sunset and belongs to Crazy Shirts now. But here is the original:

I am so behind!!!
I have not been able to create a darn thing, for months. Well that isnt true in the purest sense as I have created some projects for tutorials on DMO and some animations which have been a blast.

Is it October-00ps-November Already?
I am finally back in a basic pattern of work. It has been difficult to get into the swinf of things after guests each month.
Years ago, I painted these teapots with gouache on Black Sommerset Velvet with an idea..."if you were a teapot" to create personal paintings accourding to someone's personality. These were for my sister and sister-in-law. I did nothing with them, until now...

Lost In Life
Wow! Life took hold and put me on hold. Most frustrating of all is that there is no reason for the creative stall. Even though I have not been creating any artwork, I have been shooting a lot of photos at the beach and underwater.

Lucky Snorkel Day
I know that a lot of people have had the pleasure of swimming with dolphins but this was my first. The water was cloudy and deep so the photos aren't great but i was able to use one for a card.

Bad Photo of Beloved Birds
A fence divides me from the cattle egrets that I walk by everyday. I love them and when I first moved here until now have tried to get some good photos. This goal has eluded me.

Canoes Everywhere...
I really need to look up the history and significance of the outrigger and Hawaiian culture. Maybe I'll share my findings some day.

Breaking Out of the Box 2
What do a Place of worship, Hibiscus, Doves and a Palm Tree have in common? Nothing, except that they are all in my neighborhood and can be merged to become a fun piece of artwork.

Breaking Out Of The Box
Surrealism #1. I have become intrigued by surrealism. I dont really think that way but am experimenting. This isnt really surreal but a start at some of the aspects. I am not really sure what to call it but is did come out nice. Using these three shots and Photo Shop Elements 5:
